A $400 deposit per session ($50 for Bunny Camp) is required with the application; the balance of the fees is due April 1st.  There is also an option to equally divide the payment of the fees each month from the time of registration to June 1st.   An application withdrawn prior to March 30th receives a full refund less a $200 ($25 for Bunny Camp) administrative charge per session.  Cancellation after March 30th may result in no refund, except in the event of illness (explained by a Doctor’s certificate) which prevents the camper from attending.  In such a case, an administrative charge of $500 per session ($50 for Bunny Camp) is not refunded.  There is no refund or reduction in fees for late arrival, early departure or absence from camp.  Where more than one family member attends, a 5% discount applies to the camp fees of the second and subsequent campers.

Fees may be paid by cheque, VISA or MasterCard.  If paying the deposit by VISA or MasterCard, you may choose to have the balance of the fees automatically charged to the card on file on April 1st, or in equal installments on the first of each of month until June 1st

The camp fee includes laundry, a section photo and all aspects of the tripping program.  An accumulated list of small expenses is kept during camp.  This account includes: swimming/lifesaving awards, tuck shop purchases, clothing, riding, transportation etc.  If the deposit or balance is paid by credit card, your camper’s incidental expenses (tuck, riding, transportation etc) will automatically be charged to the card on file after your camper’s session concludes. A receipt will be sent by email, or an invoice for those who pay by cheque.

Camper Information Forms
Campers and parents need to provide further information in the spring, including cabin mate requests, health information and transportation options. Chartered buses will be available for Period 1, 2 and 3 campers from Toronto, Barrie, Gravenhurst and return. Transportation for all other sessions is based on a minimum number. The camper forms may be completed through the online system. Please indicate on the application form whether you would like to complete these forms online or by postal mail. If you choose online, further communication will be sent by email only.

Sessions Details and Program Options
Two-week sessions for campers ages 8-11:
Glen Bernard offers two 2-week sessions for campers ages 8-11.   These sessions are for campers who are new to GBC or young returning campers who wish a two-week option.   Campers must be entering grade 3, 4, 5 or 6 in September 2017.  New and returning campers ages 8-11 also have the option of the two-week session in August or either of the three-week sessions.

One-Week Sessions for campers ages 6-8: Three 1-week sessions are offered for campers ages 6-8, entering grades 1, 2 or 3 in Sept. 2017.   These one-week sessions provide an introduction to the camp program and activities.  Campers will stay in cabins and participate in a wide variety of activities including some of the all camp programs.

One-Week Session for new campers ages 11-13: A 1-week session is offered for new campers ages 11-13, entering grades 6, 7 or 8 in Sept. 2017.   This one week session will provide an introduction to the camp program and activities.  Campers will stay in cabins and participate in a wide variety of activities including some of the all camp programs.

Bunny Camp Sessions for campers ages 4-6: Two bunny sessions, each 2 nights, are offered for campers entering JK, SK or grade 1 in Sept 2017.  These sessions are an introduction to the camp experience for little GBCers.  Campers will stay in cabins with staff member supervision at all times during the day and night.

Specialty Canoe Trip Options: Campers who have a keen interest in tripping will enjoy these 5-day canoe trip options. Campers entering grades 7-8 and 9-11 in Sept. 2017 are eligible.  These options can be added to a regular camp session for a discounted fee, or selected as a sole one-week option. As a one-week session, the fee is $1155 + HST.  If added to a 2-week session, the cost is $1085 + HST, and if added to a 3-week session, the cost is $890 + HST.  Locations of the trips will be determined prior to the summer and registered campers will be provided with further details (including a specific packing list) closer to the trip dates.

Young Keen Riders: Campers entering grades 4-6 in Sept. 2017 who have a keen interest in horseback riding can select one of the Young Keen Riders sessions.  In this session, campers will spend half of each day focusing on their particular specialty, and the rest of their day in regular camp activities.  Swimming lessons are not available in this session. A discount applies if a specialty option is added to a 2 or 3 week regular camp session.

Aquatic Leadership: This option is for campers entering grades 9-11 in Sept 2017 who wish to progress into an aquatic leadership role. Campers who are 16 will focus on achieving the Lifesaving Society’s National Lifeguard Service (NLS) and/or Swim & Lifesaving Instructor certifications.  These courses prepare individuals to lifeguard and to teach and evaluate swimming strokes and lifesaving skills. Campers who are not yet 16 will learn valuable water rescue skills and work towards the Assistant Instructor certification.

Period 3 Program Options: The majority of Period 3 campers take the regular camp program, however, there are also two unique programs; one in Theatre (for campers entering grades 8-11) or the Wilderness Canoe Trip (for campers entering grades 9-11), Campers in the Theatre option will spend half of each day focusing on Theatre (swimming lessons and riding are not available with this option). The Wilderness Canoe Trippers will arrive at camp and depart on a 12-day canoe trip. The trip will do a route not included in the regular camp tripping program.

Camp Leadership Program: Campers entering grade 11 will be participating in the Pacer leadership program which focuses on skill development and teaching techniques in camp activities. This program is a leadership development opportunity and especially valuable for those who wish to be considered for GBC Assistant Counsellor positions the following summer. Campers attending a three-week session have the opportunity to earn an Ontario Ministry of Education grade 11 credit, Leadership and Peer Support (GPP30).

*There is limited enrollment in specialty sessions and Period 3 program options, in addition a minimum number is required to proceed.  If the program option chosen is not available, you will be notified well before the session begins.
