Extra Fee for Riding Program:
three-week session: $245 + HST
two-week session: $145 + HST
The riding program is not available for campers in Periods B or C.
Click here for the 2010 Application form.
A $300 deposit per session is required with the application; the balance of the fees is due April 1st.
An application withdrawn prior to March 30th receives a full refund less a $150 administrative charge per session. Cancellation after March 30th may result in no refund, except in the event of illness (explained by a Doctor’s certificate) which prevents the camper from attending. In such a case, an administrative charge of $300 per session is not refunded. There is no refund or reduction in fees for late arrival, early departure or absence from camp.
Where more than one family member attends, a 5% discount applies to the second and subsequent campers.
Fees may be paid by cheque, VISA or MasterCard. If paying by VISA or MasterCard, you may choose to have the balance of the fees due on April 1st and/or your camper(s) incidental (tuck) expenses charged to the card on file. A receipt will be sent by mail after the session concludes if you choose either of these options. Please complete the necessary payment details on the application form.
The camp fee includes laundry, a section photo and all aspects of the tripping program. An accumulated list is kept of small expenses during camp. This account includes: swimming/lifesaving awards, stamps, candy, clothing etc. The invoice/receipt for these expenses and transportation and riding is mailed soon after the session concludes.
Final Details
The camper health form and details concerning transportation, clothing list and general information will be sent mid-March. Chartered buses will be available for camper travel from Toronto, Barrie, Gravenhurst and return. Please call the camp office if you have any questions.
Glen Bernard will offer two two-week sessions for campers ages 8 to 10 in the 2010 season. These sessions are only for campers who are new to GBC. Campers must be entering grade 3, 4 or 5 in September 2010 to be eligible. New campers ages 8-10 also have the option of the two-week session in August or either of the three-week sessions.
Two one-week sessions are offered in the 2010 season for campers ages 6 & 7. Spaces are limited to keep group sizes small. These one-week sessions provide an introduction to the camp program and activities. Campers will stay in cabins and participate in a wide variety of activities including some of the all camp programs.
Campers who have completed Canadian grade 10 (or the equivalent outside Canada) will be participating in a leadership program (the Pacer Program) which focuses on skill development and teaching techniques in camp activities. This program is a leadership development opportunity and especially valuable for those who wish to be considered for GBC Assistant Counsellor positions the following summer. Campers attending either of the three-week sessions have the opportunity to earn an Ontario Ministry of Education grade 11 Guidance credit, Leadership and Peer Support (GPP30).
The majority of Period 3 campers take the regular camp program. However, in Period 3, there are two unique programs in either Theatre (for campers entering grade 8 and above) or the Wilderness Canoe Trip (for campers entering grade 9 and above). There is a limited enrollment in these two options, in addition a minimum number is required to proceed with the program. If the program option chosen is not available, you will be notified well before Period 3 begins.
