We love fun at Glen Bernard. Fun is sometimes noisy and active and sometimes quiet and thoughtful. Both aspects are important to our busy program.

Each day begins with flag raising and a thought for the day. Mornings include scheduled activities; crafts, earth education, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, wonders of the wilderness, climbing, theatre and landsports. Swimming/lifesaving classes are in the morning or afternoon depending upon section. In the afternoon, each camper chooses two activities from a variety of options that change daily. After supper, the camp program differs each day – an all camp event, or a cabin activity, or section game.

Experienced, qualified staff plan canoe trips with campers who have chosen to participate. There are a variety of pre-selected routes that vary from 3 to 7 days. If you really enjoy tripping, the Period 3 Wilderness Trip may be of interest to you.

Registering for Periods 1 or 2 allows you the option to participate in a theatre production which is performed for the rest of camp at the end of the session. If you have a special interest in theatre, perhaps the Period 3 Special Theatre program is the option for you.

Camper’s entering grade 11 participate in the Pacer Leadership Program.  The Pacer program focuses on developing skills and teaching techniques in camp activities, while giving campers the opportunity to earn a Grade 11 Ontario High School credit.

Each day is filled with opportunities….challenge yourself on the cliffs or high elements ropes course; participate in a sailing race; play in the water on the step jets, inner tubes or water seesaw; improve your shot at golf; challenge another cabin to a game of beach volleyball; paddle across the lake – the choices of new things are limitless!
