Swim and life saving Instruction by qualified staff members is an important aspect of the camp program. Every camper needs aquatic skills in order to get the most enjoyment from water based activities in the safest way. We base instruction on the programs of the Lifesaving Society and other recognized level achievements.
The art of canoeing, which is so much a part of our Canadian heritage, takes us places we can not reach by any other means. As in all skill programs at GBC, a series of levels challenges each camper, from beginner to advanced. Kayaking is an exciting and challenging sport that is very popular at Glen Bernard. Learn basic flatwater kayaking skills, master an Eskimo roll or perhaps participate in a kayak overnight.
Nothing can match the thrill of skillfully capturing the wind and feeling the spray of water on our faces! The sailing program provides an oppurtunity for both the beginner and advanced sailor to improve her skills. Races are held frequently to provide friendly conpetition. Glen Bernard's fleet includes: Lasers, Hobie Waves, Bytes, Picos, Fevas plus a number of sailboards in a variety of sizes.
We love fun on the water at GBC! Our line-up of water toys includes Space Mounatin, Saturn, the Rock, peddle boats, step jets, a water toter and more!
