Regular Tripping Program

Experienced, qualified staff plan canoe trips with campers who have chosen to participate. There are a variety of pre-selected routes that vary from 3 to 7 days in length. The duration of the trip and degree of challenge depend upon the camper's age and skill level. Younger campers participate in an overnight on Lake Bernard and camp at sites owned by GBC at various locations around the lake.

Specialty Canoe Trip Options
Campers who have a keen interest in tripping will enjoy these 5-day canoe trip options. Campers entering grades 7-11 are eligible. These options can be added to a regular camp session for a discounted fee, or selected as a sole one-week option. Locations of the trips will be determined prior to the summer and registered campers will be provided with further details (including a specific packing list) closer to the trip dates.

Wilderness Canoe Trip
Campers who especially love tripping have the opportunity of a 12-day canoe trip, offered in Period 3. The participants are 14-16 years old and the route is unique each year. Campers have travelled to many interesting destinations, including Quetico, Temagami, Kippawa, the Coulonge and Misinaibi Rivers! Following in-camp preparation, campers spend a rewarding 12 days on trip then return to GBC for our closing events.
